Featuring Bearing Type: Oil Filled Bushings
Oil Filled Bushings are an oil impregnated powder metal bushing. 15% of the weight of the bushing is the oil that has been impregnated by using hot oil and a vacuum system under pressure. The air is sucked out of the powder metal bushing pores creating a void that is then filled with oil. Over time oil leaves the bushing. Oil comes out by centrifugal force, heat and leaching out if improperly stored...more »
Industrial lubricants are oils, greases and other substances designed to reduce friction, binding or wear. Specialized characteristics may enhance thermal conduction or reduce electrical resistivity. Other industrial lubricants can provide sealing against moisture. Industrial lubricants are available in many forms such as low viscosity oils..more »

Questions:
Q: What kind of performance enhancement should I expect from ceramic bearings?

A: All of our sealed bearings are considered maintenance free and lubed for the life of the bearing. This is because they are packed with a heavy duty, lithium based grease. When the lube fully dissipates it is generally time to replace the bearing. However this does not mean that you cannot extend the life of the bearing. When they start to feel gritty you can remove the seals and soak the bearings in our Clean Touch over night. Then you can re-lube them with your lube of choice. Just keep in mind that the thinner the lube is, such as oil vs. grease, the quicker it will dissipate and need to be reapplied.
