RADIAL FULL CERAMIC BEARINGS
LEARN MOREFull ceramic, radial, deep groove, bearings are made entirely of ceramic material and are superior to common steel bearings in many ways. Ceramic is the perfect material for any application seeking to achieve higher RPM's, reduce overall weight or for extremely harsh environments where high temperatures and corrosive substances are present. Applications such as cryopumps, medical devices, semiconductors, machine tools, turbine flow meters, food processing equipment, robotics and optics. Ceramic materials commonly used for bearings are Silicon Nitride (Si3N4), Zirconia Oxide (ZrO2), Alumina Oxide (Al2O3) or Silicon Carbide (SiC.)

RADIAL BEARINGS
LEARN MOREThe purpose of a radial bearing, also known as a deep groove bearing, is to reduce rotational friction and support loads. This is achieved by using two races to hold the balls and to spread the load through the balls. As the bearing race rotates it causes the balls to rotate. The ball provides for substantially less rolling resistance and coefficient of friction than if two flat surfaces were rotating.
Single-row, deep groove radial ball bearings are the most common bearing type, having a wide range of applications. Radial deep groove bearings are made with very high levels of precision and used in applications where rotational performance and low torque is necessary, but load is a secondary issue. Miniature, Deep-groove bearings however do have higher load ratings for their size than shallow-groove ball bearings, but are also less tolerant of misalignment.

ONE WAY BEARINGS
LEARN MOREOne Way Clutch bearings or Sprag style bearings are constructed from a drawn cup with needle roller clutches and have a small radial section height. They are often called One Way Bearings, Anti-Reverse Bearings and Clutch bearings. The units are compact, lightweight and operate directly on a shaft; they are also suitable for transmitting high torque. Boca Bearings offers Standard and Stainless Steel one way clutch bearings as well as OWC style One Way bearings in standard and stainless steel, EWC Hex one way bearings, and CSK Sprag Type one way bearings available with avaialbe keyway options for higher torque capabilities.
One Way Bearings are designed to transmit torque between the shaft and housing in one direction and allow free motion in the opposite direction. Proper mounting is easily accomplished with a simple press fit in the housing. Clutches and clutch and bearing assemblies are offered both in inch and metric series.

THRUST BEARINGS
LEARN MOREThrust bearings are designed for side or axial loads, and cannot handle much radial load at all. The rolling element in a thrust bearing can be a ball, needle or roller. Thrust bearings come in both metric and inch sizes. Dimensions to consider when searching are the bore, the outside diameter and the overall width. Operating specifications to consider when searching for thrust bearings are rated speed, static axial load, and dynamic axial load. RPM for a bearing running in oil is going to be higher than one running in grease. The static axial load is the maximum axial load a bearing can withstand while stationary without suffering permanent damage. The dynamic axial load is the maximum axial load a bearing can withstand while revolving without suffering permanent damage.

SPHERICAL BALL BUSH
LEARN MORESpherical Ball Bushings are used to accommodate shafts or rods with variable amounts of misalignment. They are designed to manage high radial loads and provide consistent performance under conditions of marginal lubrication, extreme speed and critical stress. Most spherical ball bushings consist of a plain bearing and ball bushing inside a lined, cylindrical housing that reduces friction or provides lubrication. Lubrication-free spherical ball bushings are also available. Metal balls and liners are usually made of bronze, steel or iron. Non-metallic balls and liners are typically made of nylon, plastic or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). For heavy-duty applications, spherical ball bushings can include large bores or spherically shaped rollers that permit axial loading and relative misalignment between.

OIL SEALS
LEARN MOREStandard and Metric Oil Seals have a flexible lip that rubs against a shaft or housing to prevent the leakage or contamination of fluids and debris. For proper installation, the seal lip should point towards the lubrication being contained. Some oil seals have a spring to help keep the lip in contact with the shaft. The sealing orientation and direction is important to consider for oil seals and grease seals. Rod seals are radial seals. The seal is press-fit into a housing bore with the sealing lip contacting the shaft. Piston seals are radial seals. These seals are primarily used for rotary applications only. V-ring seals are all rubber seals used primarily to exclude dirt and other contaminants. V-rings stretch over a shaft and seal against the side of a housing or other machine component. There are many different styles of clearance, or labyrinth seals.

DOUBLE ROW BEARINGS
LEARN MOREDouble Row bearings are ideally suited to applications where carrying loads make a single row inadequate. Double Row bearings utilize two rows of balls back to back. They have deep groove raceways with a high degree of contact between the ball and raceways. Double Row bearings are capable of handling both radial and axial loads and are designed for applications where higher load carrying capacity is necessary. The Boca Bearing Company offers a full line of miniature standard and ceramic hybrid, double row bearings.

ANGCONFCER
LEARN MOREFull ceramic angular contact bearings are made entirely of ceramic material and are superior to common Steel Angular Contact Bearings in many ways. Ceramic is the perfect material for any application seeking to reduce friction, reduce overall weight or for extremely harsh environments where high temperatures and corrosive substances are present. Applications such as cryopumps, medical devices, semiconductors, machine tools, turbine flow meters, food processing equipment, robotics and optics.
Angular Contact Bearings are designed such that there is an angle between the races and the balls when the bearing is in operation. An axial load passes in a straight line through the bearing, whereas a radial load takes an oblique path that tends to want to separate the races axially. So the angle of contact on the inner race is the same as that on the outer race. Full Ceramic Angular Contact Bearings are typically assembled with a thrust load or preload. The preload creates a contact angle between the inner race, the ball and the outer race. The preload can be done while manufacturing the bearing or it can be done when the bearing is inserted into an application.

NEEDLE ROLLER CAGE
LEARN MORENeedle Roller & Cage Types use a roller style rolling element to reduce friction of a rotating surface without the need for an inside or outside race. Needle Roller & Cage Types have a high load carrying capacity with a very small cross section height and consist of a retainer and rollers only. The needle rollers are guided parallel to the axis using a cage retainer. Needle Roller & Cage Types have a larger surface area that is in contact with the bearing outer surfaces compared to ball bearings. Additionally there is less clearance, or the difference between the diameter of the shaft and the diameter of the bearing, so they are much more compact. The typical structure consists of a needle cage which orients and contains the needle rollers and, the needle rollers themselves.Needle Roller & Cage Types are heavily used in engine components.

NEEDLE BEARINGS
LEARN MORENeedle bearings use a roller style rolling element to reduce friction of a rotating surface. Needle Bearings have a high load carrying capacity with a very small cross section height. They are available with or without an inner ring. The needle rollers are guided parallel to the axis using a cage retainer, thrust bearings can also be supplied with no retainer, which is referred to as a full complement of rollers.
Needle bearings have a larger surface area that is in contact with the bearing outer surfaces compared to ball bearings. Additionally there is less clearance, or the difference between the diameter of the shaft and the diameter of the bearing, so they are much more compact. The typical structure consists of an inner race (or sometimes merely a shaft), a needle cage which orients and contains the needle rollers, the needle rollers themselves, and an outer race. Needle bearings are heavily used in engine components such as rocker arm pivots, pumps, compressors, and transmissions.

LINEAR BALL BUSHINGS
LEARN MORELinear bearings are used in applications where a component needs to be moved along a straight line. The object may also need to be returned to its original position with a high degree of repeatability. Linear bearings come in a variety of styles and have wide load capacities. A Linear Ball Bushing is similar to a traditional bushing but has rows of balls to reduce friction and increase smoothness. Linear bearings are used on transportation equipment, 3D printers, automation equipment, food processing equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other systems that require smooth, precise motion.
