Bottle Racer Launcher

I am working to improve and customize a bottle car racing system. The main changes to be made are the integration of bearings and the ease of changing cars for racing. The bearings are to be hand-pressed in for ease of assembly. The bearings will hold a 3mm axle shaft for the wheels to be mounted on. The system that was provided to race the cars uses a guide wire to keep them straight down the track. The final requirement is the ability to print 100+ of these with minimal time and material.

The initial version I designed was one piece with the axles running through it and the wire running through a guide channel below. There were a few issues with this as the guide channel was not a complete circle which would allow the car to jump off if the correct forces were applied. Also, since the guide channel needed to be below the axles, the base plate needed to be taller. This in turn, made a piece that took 3+ hours to print.I am working to improve and customize a bottle car racing system. Version two includes a slotted design in which a fixed guide platform is installed and a body is fitted over it. The body would slide into place and hold the car true to the wire guiding it. I have finished the designs and awaiting printing to test the components and fitment.
