Women's History Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the countless contributions that women have made throughout history. From fighting for equal rights to breaking glass ceilings in various industries, women have played a crucial role in shaping the world we live in today.

This month is an opportunity to learn about the trailblazing women who have paved the way for future generations, as well as to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of women from all walks of life. It is a time to reflect on the progress made in advancing women's rights and to acknowledge the work that still needs to be done to achieve true gender equality.

For Women's History Month, we want to take a moment to honor a remarkable woman who has

made a significant impact in the STEAM (formerly STEM) field. Michele Baum, Boca Bearings Co-Founder, a trailblazer in the world of bearings, and a true inspiration to women in our company.

One of Michelle Baum's last contributions to the STEAM community is the creation of the Boca Bearings ACCEL Scholarship Fund, which aims to support and empower Florida Students pursuing careers in engineering and related fields. Minorities and women are highly encouraged to apply. This scholarship not only serves as a testament to Michele's commitment to diversity and inclusion but also as a symbol of her dedication to providing opportunities for the next generation of female engineers, who only compose 16.5% of this field.  In previous years, we were thrilled to grant this $3,000 scholarship to five female students pursuing mechanical engineering degrees. 

Sadly, in 2001 after a valiant battle with breast cancer, Michele succumbed to this terrible disease. In her honor and her courageous fight against breast cancer, we decided to launch a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at our company. This year will mark the 5th anniversary of our impactful #Tell2Too BCAM campaign. 

This campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of early detection, promoting regular screenings, and supporting breast cancer research and treatment.

As part of this campaign, we organize various events and activities throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These activities include fundraising initiatives, educational programs, and opportunities for employees to come together in support of those affected by breast cancer.

We encourage all of our supporters to participate in this campaign, together, we can honor the memory of our dear co-founder Michele Baum, and make a difference in the fight against this devastating disease.
